It's not so hard. Here's the rule?
Call me Beth.
Exception 1) On paper. Then it's Elizabeth Grigg.
Exception 2) You're using my last name. Then it's Elizabeth Grigg
Basically I never wanted to hear "Beth Grigg" and changed to Elizabeth when I got married so this would never be the case.
For some reason people have a hard time with this
